The first episode of Inner Earth School YouTube channel wasn’t planned as a manifesto. There was no script. No polished teaching. Just two people sitting down to talk honestly about how we arrived here.
And that felt important.
Because so many meaningful journeys don’t begin with clarity.
They begin with uncertainty.
Roman and I met years ago in what feels, looking back, like a completely different lifetime.

It’s not very often that you have photographic evidence of your first meeting with someone who is to become a dear friend and now business partner, but here we are.
This was myself and Roman meeting for the first time at Vevolution in 2017, a vegan event where I was speaking on a fitness panel. You can’t see Roman’s face but trust me that is definitely him.
You can tell by the sparkle in my eyes 😜
We were both exploring veganism back then and I was a mini vegan influencer calling myself The Plant Powered PT.
Back then we had…
Different identities (neither of us are vegan now but that’s a future episode topic)
Different beliefs.
Different versions of ourselves.
At the time, neither of us could have predicted that our paths would eventually converge in this way.
But that’s often how transitions work.
You only understand them in reverse.
Life Transitions Don’t Announce Themselves
Most people think a transition looks like a clear decision.
A confident step.
A bold new direction.
In reality, it usually starts with something quietly ending.
A role that no longer fits.
An identity that feels hollow.
A relationship, belief, or way of living that once worked but doesn’t anymore.
And then comes the part we’re rarely taught how to sit with.
The in-between.
The space where you’re no longer who you were, but not yet who you’re becoming.
Where clarity disappears.
Where motivation wavers.
Where self-doubt creeps in and asks uncomfortable questions.
This is where many people assume they’re failing.
But they’re not.
They’re transitioning.
The Framework That Changed How I See Change
During my counselling training, I came across the William Bridges Transition Model, and it instantly resonated because it described something I’d lived through but never had language for.
Every transition moves through three stages:
The Ending
Something must be let go of.
A role.
An identity.
A chapter of life.
This stage often carries grief, even when the ending was chosen.
The Neutral Zone
The most misunderstood phase.
Confusing.
Unsettled.
Disorientating.
But also quietly creative and full of opportunity.
This is where anxiety and depression often show up, not because something is wrong, but because the old structures have fallen away and the new ones haven’t formed yet.
The New Beginning
Not a return to who you were.
But the emergence of who you’re becoming.
Often more grounded, more honest, and more aligned than before.
Understanding this changed how I viewed my own life transitions.
Leaving personal training.
Letting go of identities that had defined me.
Moving through years of uncertainty and not knowing what was next.
At the time, it felt like stagnation.
Looking back, it was necessary compost.
Why Inner Earth School Exists
Inner Earth School was created because so many people are moving through transitions without language, support, or reassurance that what they’re experiencing is normal.
We’re taught how to optimise.
How to perform.
How to improve.
But not how to descend.
Not how to sit in uncertainty.
Not how to let something end without rushing into the next thing out of fear.
This space exists to slow things down.
To offer perspective.
And to remind you that confusion doesn’t mean you’ve lost your way.
Often, it means you’re standing at a threshold.
A Final Reflection
If you’re in a season of not knowing right now, unsure of what’s next or who you’re becoming, there may be nothing wrong with you at all.
You may simply be in the middle of a transition.
And those are rarely comfortable.
But they are deeply human.
And often, quietly transformational.
