There is a moment in most transitions when thinking stops being helpful.
You analyse the situation repeatedly. You ask what the right decision is. You search for the next step that will restore certainty. But transitions rarely unfold through analysis alone. They move at a slower rhythm.
During uncertain periods the mind becomes noisy. Thoughts circle around the same questions. What should I do next. What if I make the wrong choice. How do I move forward. The more you attempt to solve the uncertainty through thinking, the louder that noise often becomes.
This is where creativity begins to play a surprisingly important role and this is what myself and Roman spoke about on episode 12 of Inner Earth School on YouTube.
Creativity is often misunderstood. Many people assume it belongs to artists, musicians, or people with obvious creative talent. Yet creativity is far broader than that. It is simply the act of making something. Writing a page in a journal. Cooking a new recipe. Rearranging a space. Sketching an idea. Building something with your hands.
When you engage in that process, your attention shifts.
Instead of analysing the future, your mind focuses on what is in front of you. The movement of a pen across paper. The shaping of an idea. The simple act of creation. This change of attention has a powerful effect on the nervous system. It settles the body and reduces the constant mental agitation that uncertainty creates.
Creativity also reconnects two parts of the self that modern life often separates.
Much of our daily world emphasises logic, data, and analysis. Those capacities are important. Yet they are only one half of human intelligence. Beneath them sits a quieter form of knowing. Intuition, emotion, and felt sense.
Creative activity often bridges this gap. When you create something, you naturally move from the head toward the heart. It becomes easier to listen inwardly rather than constantly calculating outward answers.
This shift does not immediately solve the transition you are facing. It does something more useful.
It creates space.
Clarity often arrives indirectly. When the nervous system settles and the mind becomes quieter, insight has room to emerge. Ideas form naturally rather than being forced. You begin to notice what feels aligned and what does not.
Many people underestimate how powerful this process can be. They believe they must solve the transition before they allow themselves to relax. In reality the opposite is often true. When you allow creativity and curiosity to return, the transition begins to organise itself more clearly.
Creativity reminds you that uncertainty is not only a problem to fix. It can also be a space of exploration.
And sometimes the most constructive step you can take during a period of change is not to solve your life, but simply to create something.
